Cisco is stoked to be in the field.

He's also glad that 'in the field' is him riding backseat with GP the porg perched on his shoulder behind Roy and Diggle tracking a location instead of with Barry and Oliver actually facing the bad guys.

Cruising the streets of Starling City in a panel van that could totally be a whole lot cooler, Cisco, Roy and Diggle are tracking the signal from the cell phone Barry and Oliver got off of Markos (Cisco definitely didn't ask about it). Their mission is to pin down a location for Barry and Oliver to find their boomerang guy. As exciting as it is for Cisco, the air in the van is a little tense and Cisco finally speaks up about it.

"You ok?" he asks Diggle who's driving.

"My daughter's mother tried to detonate a bomb in a man's head and now he's trying to kill her," Diggle responds flatly.

"So, that would be a no," Cisco surmises, talking to Diggle while keeping an eye on the screen of his tracker.

For his part, Diggle at least doesn't get annoyed, instead he explains, "Look, you don't know me that well, but I'm the type of guy who's only thought about one thing; 'how do I keep the people I love safe?'"

Cisco may not know a whole lot about Diggle, but the dude is very obviously capable and Cisco says as much.

"Well, you seem to me to be pretty good at that," Cisco says, glancing at Roy for confirmation.

"Maybe before," Diggle replies solemnly. "I remember a world where people didn't kill each other with boomerangs."

"Or walk on water?" Cisco adds in with a smile, trying to ease the tension.

"Barry can walk on water?" Roy asks, glancing over his shoulder at Cisco in surprise.

Oliver and Diggle have been at this awhile, and Cisco gets that, he also gets that things have gotten a whole lot crazier lately, but Cisco knows that it's not all bad and he tries to point out as much.

"You guys," Cisco says, leaning forward to stick his head between the seats to talk to both Diggle and Roy (Cisco called shotgun, he so totally did), "Harkness has been around long before people like Barry. I mean, this world was crazy before all these metahumans and superpowers, right?"

"What-- what's your point?" Roy asks, glancing back and then drawing away when he sees that GP has left Cisco's shoulder and the weird bird is now perched on Roy's headrest.

"Well, maybe metahumans and superpowers were given to us to deal with the crazy," Cisco suggests.

"You mean by God?" Diggle asks skeptically.

"No. By a dark matter wave released from a failed particle accelerator reaction," Cisco says, dismissing that thought and sticking with science.

"Either way," Cisco goes on, getting to his whole point, "I think people like Barry are the hope for saving people like us. People like your wife and daughter."

That draws an instant and simultaneous response from Roy and Diggle.

"She's not his wife."
"She's not my wife."

Leaving that alone, Cisco says, "Ok. Anyway, you see my point? Plus, you got to admit, it's all pretty freakin' cool, right?"

Cisco grins between Roy and Diggle and he's certain that both of them smile.

The tracker finally pings and GP squawks from Roy's chairback in response while Cisco looks down to check the screen.

"Okay, I gotta ask, what the hell is that thing anyways?" Diggle asks, glancing over at GP then cutting his eyes back to the road.

"His name is GP and he's a porg," Cisco replies, just a touch distracted as he checks his tracker.

"What the hell is a-- you know what? I'm not even gonna ask," Diggle decides, shaking his head and giving up.

The tracker pings again and GP's return squawk makes both Roy and Diggle wince.

"Got it," Cisco announces, showing the other two men his screen.

Roy looks down at the screen while surreptitiously pushing GP off of his chair rest and says, "Great, I'll make the call."
